Family

Family is...everything.  I love, love, love my husband and my four kiddos.  But, they can also get on every one of my last nerve, nerve, nerve.  Seriously, who knew love and irritation went hand in hand?

Aside from my family's ability to make this mama lose her ever-loving mind, they are also my sources of laughter Every.Single.Day.  I don't know where my kids got their dry sense of humor, just kidding, it's my husband's fault, but their one-liners leave me howling with laughter.

My 13 year old is my biggest challenge because, well, hormones.  Need I say more? He's super smart (with equal parts lazy...seriously, is this a phase?) and can build anything out of Legos. I mean anything. He's been putting them together since he was about 4...to the point where I've timed him before because he's so fast.

My 6 year old is the sweet soul of the family, but Lord that boy can whine like it is his job! He is also the one who has the best one liners. He may look shy and sweet, but he has a very dry sense of humor that makes you bust out laughing because it's just so unexpected. And he is SO tall...and I'm pretty sure he could hide behind a thin tree like they do in the cartoons. The boy eats bread like a boss and is pencil thin...he did NOT get his metabolism from me.  Just saying. (PS: that picture of him was during his class picture at his last school...yes...he is that child).

My 4 year old will be your future world leader...bow down now.  My mother bought her a shirt that says, "I'm not bossy, I have leadership skills" and it is the TRUTH.  This girl has no problem standing up for herself, but loves her friends and to just laugh and play.  She keeps me honest and has THE best imagination I have heard from a child.  She amazes me daily.

Finally (literally as we are not having any more), my 8 month old. She was a surprise, in every way, but is such a blessing. Her sweet smile, and innocence just brings joy. Her little personality is starting to shine through though, and I have a feeling she's not going to be as innocent as she looks.

Making all these children possible (as he likes to remind me, because I had nothing to do with their creation - major eye roll) is my husband.  That man has been my constant for 13 years now.  He keeps me grounded, and in our crazy world full of movement, noise, military ups and downs, cross country travels, medical uncertainty with our youngest...grounded = sanity.

Pass the Sanity, Please! is a blog about our life. As we aren't the only ones who live with crazy, I know some will be able to relate.  Others will be able to laugh at, and maybe realize that their crazy isn't so bad.  And I know others will have more crazy than us.  But, they say it takes a village to help raise our children. I firmly believe that it also takes a village to get through this world, and this life. Just like at family dinners, when you ask someone to pass the salt to help flavor your meal, I hope this blog helps us each pass around the sanity, to help keep our life...flavorful...and sane.
